Pork and Pickle in Kansas City

Had another nice meal here, went with the hot smoked salmon salad. A nice light option. This place is always busy but if you have some time it's one of the better meals you can get at an airport. Staff is usually pretty responsive, they stay busy though. I've had the wedgie salad before too, but would recommend the salmon.

Super fast service even though the place was packed and the cheese fries were amazing! So many giant fruit flies though yuck 😣

I had breakfast at Pork & Pickle, so I cannot speak for the lunch or dinner full-meal options, but the breakfast was fantastic. My group tried several offerings and we're very pleased. We are right as soon as they opened, at 7:00am, and the staff were still attentive and courteous. Food was brought out quickly and the drinks tasted good too. It was a bit pricey, yet that should be expected for airport food and drinks. The barbequed meat is definitely a good choice.

The breakfast was tasty and filling. I wish I was here in time for lunch or dinner because the smell of that barbecue had me starving. The waitress was extremely nice and handle the whole floor alone very efficiently.

The food was great. We had the Mac n cheese with burnt ends. Amazing. We also got a combo. Surprisingly good BBQ. We also offered 2 drinks off menu. A Bahama Mama and an Aperol Spritz. At $17 and $14 I would rethink that request if given the chance. They weren't worth it.

Fun place to wait for a flight. Foods good and the drink selection is more than expected. Air port prices of course

I am a weekly traveler and love coming here to grab some food before my flight. The food is great. The service is medium. I have been servers put on lip gloss with their finger, rub their head/face, touch the trash can and all of this without washing their hands before touching a customers rolled silverware, glass &/or food. Ive even seen a server floss on the line (to the far right facing the bar) Go in the back and do that but at least she washed her hands. Pork & Pickles management has to do better.

I fly frequently and usually want a little something before flying out, today was no different. Unfortunately, it was the first time I was served by #130842 “Nubia”. She was rude, and snappy. Her response when called out on her behavior was “we are so busy”. I’m sorry business owners, servers, etc the point is to be busy. “Busy” is how you make your living. But when a customer comes in who greets and treats you with warmth and respect— at bare minimum try to match that. I cannot wait for the new dining options, I suspect it will change your business model completely or you’ll be far less busy—- and perhaps less rude and short.

I wanted some KC bbq during our long layover. Brandon our server was very attentive and helpful with our meal selections. I ordered the three meat combo. The brisket was tender and juicy, ribs had a lot of flavor but the sausage was not on the same level. Actually, the sausage was disappointing. Fries were crispy and not oily. I ended the meal with the tasty ice cream sandwich which consisted of two chocolate chip cookies, a scope of vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and a powdered sugar garnish. All requested napkins were happily supplied and a soda to go was offered. Could use a little more cleaning between customers.

This was some of the best BBQ I have had in my life!! I had the combo platter with ribs, brisket, and sausage while waiting for my flight. I only had an hour to catch my plane. The service was fast and friendly. I was able to take my food AND beer with me to wait at the gate. Definitely stop by this establishment if possible. I know I will be here again next time I am in the Kansas City airport!

The food was outstanding and was reasonably priced. Especially for food in an airport. There isn't much in the way of ambience. The tables are placed close together and its loud. The service was just OK. I think this is because there were only 2 waiters for the whole restaurant. Once we placed our order, the food came quickly. Beer and soda prices are VERY HIGH.

Average food. Nice to have in the airport though. Small. If it's busy, there's no room for your baggage!

Perfect for any meal time, but was especially excited they had brunch and mimosas! Glad the airport has this place!

Considering that there are very few options at this airport, this isn't bad. Service was quick and the food came out quickly. The mac n cheese was pretty decent.

Average BBQ in KC!?!? Yep that about sums up Pork and Pickle at the KC airport. The ribs were juicy with a solid smoke ring, and slightly firm texture. The chicken however had the consistency, and taste of being boiled. Fries average, slaw average, comically small corn muffin with an average taste. Meh.

. Compact, rugged, smoky but good food for an airport hangout. It's located inside the Southwest terminal. Big choice of beers, wine was OK. Hey it's airport food in Kansas. Service is good.

I couldn't believe I was in an airport. Turkey sliced 1/2in thick and smoked to perfection! This is a must stop if you're hungry at MCI airport. And short on time?...no worries they are fast!

Gastro Cobb Salad

The pork and pickle sliders are the best. Ask for the spicy BBQ sauce, very tasty for dipping the garlic tater tots!!

Fantastic! Our family is embarrassed to admit we look forward to eating at the airport, but the Pork & Pickle is a family fav. Just learned that new airport construction has been approved - if the old one will be knocked down, we'll spearhead the public lobbying campaign to move the Pork & Pickle!

Bright and lively sit down restaurant upstairs. I sat at the bar. The server was very pleasant. I ordered the grill cheese bac Tom and egg sandwich w tots, and coffee. It was busy - my order took 25mins to show. I was pleased though- delicious sandwich on grilled sourdough. It was 1st rate, worth the wait.

Great and fast service

3 attempts to cook my burger to order. Finally I gave up accepted the nasty burger. Seriously disappointed in the customer service and skill of the line cooks.

The Mac n Cheese here is truly amazing, and a great meal that is impossible to finish! But my favorite is their chili, you MUST give it a try! Really enjoyed this stop at MCI airport!

Had the fish and chips with their cheddar fries. The fish was decent, served with tartar sauce. The cheddar fries though were not really cheddar. It tasted like melted American.

This place was hopping. At 3:30 PM. The serving crew was rocking. Constant motion and on time. Two problems. Both this sandwich and the fries were cool at best. I ate the sandwich but I was expecting BBQ and this was shaved turkey. Pimento had some kick. The fries went untouched. Issue 2? This poor pickle was billed on the menu. I'd be ashamed to mention it was even part of the meal. Poor thing.

Ribs are scrumptious. Excellent service. They even brought a little special something for my kitty as we were traveling with him. 😻😹😺🐾

Had a short layover and they served us really quick. The food was good and great service. We sat at the bar and was able to see what an awesome job the cooks were doing. Will definitely stop in again when we're there.

Food was tasty. I had the Pork & Pickle & a beer. Service was quick. It was created when I first got there but, it slowed down. I will definitely go back.

I have stopped here several times while flying out. Food is 7 out of 10. Servers are attentive. This place does get busy. This is prob the better of the food options in terminal B. Will be back.

Great spot in the airport to get a meal. One of the best briskets sandwiches I've had. Typically, at other restaurants, a brisket sandwich seems like they use the scraps. Not here. Full thick sliced pieces. I would definitely be back if I'm ever at this airport again.

The breakfast here was good. An omlette with smoked meats and some light veggies caked with cheese and a slice of bacon. A slice of sourdough toast and a few parmesan tots. My server was very friendly and kept my water full. Also looks like a great place to grab a drink before your flight as they have a decent selection of beers. Would come back.

Great option in Terminal B at KCI. The chicken sandwich is delicious. Solid choice of beers on tap. Friendly bartenders. Highly recommend.

This place was just ok at best. The service was good but the beef brisket was extremely dry and the cheese fries had very little cheese.

The KC airport is notoriously difficult to pass through and with limited options. And yet? I make a point of connecting through a few times a year just to stop in to the Pork and Pickle. Solid BBQ, especially for an airport. Great beer selection, friendly staff, timely service. Allow a half hour if you eat fast, more if you don't.

Felt slightly overpriced for what we got (then again, it's an airport). The two bigger downsides were: the "to go" really didn't have a good line or explanation. There is a sign for it but thinking back it may have just been pointing at the to go menus. We couldn't figure out where to order the to go from (bar, extra counter, or what).It also felt like it took forever to get the food. We weren't rushed for time, but by the time we did get our food we didn't have much time to sit and eat before boarding for our flight began.

Phenomenal hash skillet with brisket trimmings! Simply scrumptious!

The smoked paprika turkey sammy was super tasty 😁The pickle was surprisingly delicious as well. It wasn't your usual side plate pickle. It was pickled in some kind of brine that wasn't too vinegary or salty with just a tad of sweetness. It also had a nice crispness. I normally write off the pickle on the plate, but that thing was a delightful sandwich accompaniment.

We had the combo platter which was more than enough for two and was awesome! Also our waitress was excellent as well!

For Kansas City this place is great. In a terrible airport with no dining options MCI airport is lucky to have the Pork and Pickle. Solid five stars. Cobb salad was awesome . Ribs are great. Half chicken looks good. Pretzel and pickle appetizers were nice. And they have sweet potato fries, a rare commodity.

Had a half rack of spare ribs, got the small end which was overcooked and dry, ribs were half cartilage that I had to pick out as I went, came with the smallest cornbread mini muffin I could imagine. Line cooks assembled my meal directly in front of me, which was definitely not appetizing.Fries were decent I guess. Sauce was good.Wouldn't recommend, but the rest of the menu looked better than anything else in the concourse. Maybe the ribs just aren't their strong suit. Don't sit at the bar near the grill if you can avoid it.

Hardest working staff I have seen. No one stands still. Food is awesome. Please realize how hard the wait staff is working. They are busting it to get people in and out. Appreciate all of you. Everyone is giving 110%. Thanks Brandon, Chris, Ashley, and all the cooks, etc. for another great start to a trip!

The best restaurant in the Kansas City Airport. They smoke their own barbecue in house right in the restaurant in the airport. I love the friendly staff and prompt service. I would go here even if I wasn't flying out.

Pork and & Pickle stands out above BK or Starbucks when you want that early morning breakfast! Cooked while you’re there. The french toast is exactly as it should be an the fruit tasted fresh. The omelette could have been more flavorful but it was hearty and fills ya up for a day of travel. Definitely recommend taking the trip upstairs for this spot!

I ordered the smoked pork spare ribs. The meat TOTALLY fell off the bones (the standard for properly prepared KC-style ribs). Great environment for an airport and exceptional service. Thank You!!

The KC airport doesn’t have a lot of choices so I was excited when this opened. I’ve eaten here several times before flying out and it’s always been delicious . The breakfast hash skillet is SO good. The decor is charming, the staff could be friendlier but it didn’t really affect the meal. It’s a great way to get your bbq fix before you leave KC!

It smells like stale beer and the service is slow. The food was overpriced and not great. The actual meat/barbecue was decent. Fries were soggy/not cooked thoroughly. The coleslaw was disgusting. The pickle was decent. My meal was somehow supposed to be a sandwich but everything just fell apart. I paid a lot for disappointment

Good food for the airport. Pricey like most, but good service also.
